In 2003, the IUK academic consortium formed the International Higher School of Medicine as a structural unit. The main prerequisite for the school's establishment was a strategy of reforming Kyrgyz education and increasing the competitiveness of domestic universities, which resulted in IHSM administration and faculty focusing their efforts on the creation of a modern, dynamic educational institution capable of providing high-quality training and having competitive potential in the medical education market.

Our MD programme is regarded among the top in the country, and our faculty, scientists, and physicians are world-renowned specialists in their specialties. The International Higher School of Medicine is now a modern institution with a well-developed infrastructure, as well as experienced faculty members who are nationally and internationally acknowledged experts in several fields of medicine, as well as professional health organisations and agencies.

The initial 13 pupils were enrolled many years ago, and the school now has around 3500 students. The majority of our students are from other nations, including India, Pakistan, South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Japan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Turkey, and Syria. This is why English is used as the medium of instruction. As a result, the administration of IHSM continues to focus on developing a modern, dynamic educational institution that provides high-quality education in order to maintain a competitive edge in the education sector.
