The Govt.Medical College, Kozhikode (Calicut Medical College) is a prestigious medical school in the Kerala city of Kozhikode. It was founded in 1957 as Kerala's second medical college. Since then, the university has grown into the state's top medical education centre. The huge Medical College campus has a total area of 270 acres (1.1 km.sq) and is located about 8 kilometres east of Kozhikode's city centre. It was once associated with the University of Calicut, but is now affiliated with the Kerala University for Health Sciences (KUHS). This college and its affiliated colleges serve 40% of Kerala's population.
Dr. B. Ramakrishna Rao, the then Governor of Kerala, placed the college's foundation stone on May 29, 1957. The College was formally launched on August 5, 1957, by Dr. A. R. Menon, the then Minister of Health for Kerala State, whose initiative and zeal were responsible for the institution's establishment. The first principal, Dr. K. N. Pisharoty, was in charge of the college's organisation.
About City
Kozhikode was the capital of Malabar during the time of Zamorins, who where ruling before the British Rule in India. It was trading in spices like black pepper and cardamom with the Jews, Arabs, Phoenicians and the Chinese for centuries, and with the Dutch and Portuguese more than 500 years ago. The Portuguese were the first foreigners to find this land, the gateway to Kerala, famous for spices. This city is famous for receiving Vasco da Gama in 1498. He landed on the remote beach of Kappad, which is 18 km away from the Calicut City.

Procedure for NEET Seat Allotment in Government Medical College Kozhikode
Online registration is available
Candidates must register online on the official website using their registration number and password once the NEET results are released. Candidates will be allowed to participate in the counselling and, as a result, the seat allocation process once they have registered.
