Conditions for Foreign Medical Graduates to Get Permanent Registration in India

  • Completed a foreign medical degree course of at least 54 months (4.5 years).

  • Completed a 12-month (1-year) internship in the same foreign medical college/university.

  • Studied in a college where the medium of instruction was English for the whole course.

  • Studied all compulsory MBBS subjects as listed by NMC in Schedule–I (Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, OBG, etc.).

You must be eligible to practice in that foreign country

  • You must be registered with the medical council / regulatory body of the country where you studied, and
