The De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute (DLSMHSI) is a medical school and allied health institution established in 1979 and is a constituent of De La Salle Philippines. The institute consists of three service divisions: the academic division - consisting of the colleges and a senior high school (all of which are only medicine and allied health-related courses), its teaching hospital - De La Salle University Medical Center, and a research facility - Angelo King Medical Research Center. Located in Dasmariñas City, Cavite, it sits only 3 kilometers from De La Salle University-Dasmariñas, a separate De La Salle campus where it is often mistaken as part of due to its proximity.
General Information
De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute (DLSMHSI) is a full-complement medical and health allied institution that provides holistic, excellent, and premium medicine and health professions education, health care, and research services in a nurturing God-centered environment as it pursues its commitment of Nurturing life. The Institute has three major services: medical and health sciences education, health care through De La Salle University Medical Center, and the De La Salle Angelo King Medical Research Center. Its medical school provides the biggest scholarship program for students of medicine in the Philippines, providing not only free tuition but also housing, books, and food allowance to qualified students.
DLSUMC is the biggest tertiary hospital in the region which provides the most advanced services and facilities for health care. It is also committed to making quality health care accessible to the poor. Its Charity Outpatient Department and Charity Ward provide free medical services to thousands of poor patients every year. The DLS AKMRC — which is capable of conducting clinical trials for FDA registration of food, drugs, and devices — performs the most number of clinical trials each year among private medical research institutions in the Philippines. It is the first in the country to have been chosen by the US NIH to be a clinical research site for a global study.

IHSM provides the opportunity to live in school dormitories and rent apartments. However, we advise to choose dormitory options for students of the first years of studies. Although modern connection capabilities highly depend on internet, postal and courier services they are still important. Many courier and postal services are available to transfer documental and non-documental goods. Along with the well-established EMS postal service, others like DHL, Express have always been available. IHSM students can receive any postal correspondence and any other messages delivered to the IHSM headquarters, which dispatch them safely to the addressees.

Hostel And Mess Facilities available at De La Salle University Health Sciences Campus
University has a very good hostel campus with free Wifi access. Accommodations for students are available as singles, doubles and triples. Additionally, there are separate hostels for women and men. All hostels are furnished with beds, chairs, tables, and other necessary items. Facilities within the campus include a supermarket, a clinic, a pharmacy, etc. The hostel is monitored by CCTV 24 hours a day. For Indian students on campus, Mess is also available. All students are subject to strict hostel rules. The hostel also serves Indian food.
