About Medical University

Jinzhou Medical University was born during the War of Liberation. The predecessor of the school was the Liaoji Military Region Health School established in Tanoan City, Jilin Province in 1946. In 1949, it moved to Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. Jinzhou Medical College was established in 1958 and was renamed Liaoning Medical College in 2006. In 2007, he passed the evaluation of the undergraduate teaching level of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China with excellent results. 


In March 2016, approved by the Ministry of Education, it was officially renamed Jinzhou Medical University. After 75 years of development, it has become a provincial general higher education institution with a focus on medicine, multiple disciplines, multiple levels, and multiple forms of schooling. The campus covers an area of 994,987.60 square meters. There are three types of education: general higher education, adult education and international education; there are 6 disciplines of medicine, engineering, agriculture, science, management, and education; there are 25 undergraduate majors. 


The school became a master's degree-granting unit in 1984. In 1999, it obtained the qualification to apply for the right to grant a master's degree for persons with the same academic ability. There are currently 8 master's degree authorization first-level disciplines, 58 second-level master's degree authorization points, and 5 master's professional degrees Authorization point: Approved by the Ministry of Education in 2003, it cooperated with China Medical University to train doctoral students. Now it is jointly established with Jinan University, Soochow University, and Dalian Medical University to hire 21 doctoral supervisors for clinical medicine. 


The school has 2 national high-level talents, 1 winner of the National Teaching Teacher Award, 3 members of the Teaching Steering Committee of Higher Education Ministry of Education, 1 national candidate for the New Century Talent Project, and winner of the State Council Special Government Allowance 23 There are 3 outstanding experts in Liaoning Province, 4 selected for the "Liaoning Provincial Higher Education Climbing Scholars Support Program", and 12 winners of the Liaoning Famous Teaching Teacher Award. The school has always adhered to the central position of teaching work, based on building morality, continuously deepening teaching reform, strengthening teaching management, improving the quality of talent training, and teaching results. 


The school currently has 2 national-level first-class undergraduate majors, 1 national-level characteristic major, 1 national-level comprehensive reform pilot major, 5 provincial-level first-class undergraduate major construction points, 3 provincial-level comprehensive reform pilot majors, and provincial level There is 1 pilot major for engineering talent training model reform, 1 provincial-level innovation and entrepreneurship education reform pilot major, 3 provincial-level demonstration majors, and 5 provincial-level characteristic (brand) majors. There are 14 provincial-level quality courses, 7 provincial-level quality resource sharing and video open courses, and 6 provincial-level teaching teams. 


There are 8 provincial-level experimental teaching demonstration centers, 5 provincial-level virtual simulation experimental teaching demonstration centers, 3 provincial-level virtual simulation experimental teaching projects, and 12 provincial-level practical education bases for college students. The school conforms to the development trend of international medical education. In 1991, it took the lead to carry out the reform of the medical curriculum model of "organ system-centered" in China, breaking the traditional curriculum model of "discipline-centered", and providing a foundation for the reform of higher medical education in my country. The successful example created the coexistence of multiple curriculum models in higher medical education in my country. 


It was highly valued by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health, and was approved by the Ministry of Education as a "Project for Reforming the Teaching Contents and Curriculum Models of Higher Medical Education in the 21st Century". This reform won two second prizes for national teaching achievement and two first prizes for teaching achievement in Liaoning Province. The school’s scientific research work started early. In the 1970s and 1980s, the “Research on the etiology and prevention of paddy field dermatitis” undertaken by the school won a major contribution award at the National Science Conference. Breakthroughs have been made in the etiology and pathology research of the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Health has obtained Grade B scientific and technological achievements, and has made important contributions to the prevention and control of endemic diseases in China. 


The school has become a national research center for "endemic disease" and "endemic disease"; "Research on Magnetic Resin Root Canal Filling Materials and Technology" won the third prize of National Science and Technology Invention, which filled the domestic blank at that time. Since the reform and opening up, the school has embarked on a medical technology development path that integrates production, education and research, and successfully incubated a high-tech biopharmaceutical company-Jinzhou Aohong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., which has become a model for the integration of production, education and research in the field of higher medicine in the country. 


The school has been approved to build 2 major science and technology platforms for colleges and universities in Liaoning Province, 13 key laboratories in Liaoning Province, 1 engineering research center in Liaoning Province, 2 professional technology innovation centers in Liaoning Province, and 2 clinical medicine research centers in Liaoning Province. The school has been approved for 4 key disciplines in Liaoning Province. The basic medicine discipline was selected into the first-class discipline construction project of Liaoning Province colleges and universities. 


The school sponsored three publications: "Journal of Jinzhou Medical University", "Natural Science Edition" and "Social Science Edition", and "Chinese Doctors' Ability Evaluation". The school currently has 12,135 full-time students, including 8074 undergraduates. It is now recruiting students from 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across the country. The ranking of students in 2020 will continue to improve. The province's five-year medical backbone majors in clinical medicine, stomatology, medical imaging, and anesthesiology are among the top 20% of the province; the scores of upgrades in 7 provinces and cities are higher than a control line, The scores of 9 provinces and cities were higher than the control line by more than 100 points. 


The school began to recruit international students in 1997. In 2012, it was approved by the Ministry of Education as a "Qualified College for Studying in China for Clinical Medicine in English". In 2014, it was officially listed as a "Chinese Government Scholarship for International Students in China" by the Ministry of Education. In 2015, it was approved by the Ministry of Education as a "Qualification College for Recruiting Students from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan." The school actively connects with the national "One Belt One Road" strategy. The total number of source countries has reached 75, with 1061 international students. The Third Affiliated Hospital is a tertiary first-class hospital, Liaoning Provincial Workers’ Work Injury Rehabilitation Center, Liaoning Province Diabetes Prevention and Treatment Liaoxi Sub-center, Liaoning Province Diabetic Eye Disease Prevention and Treatment Liaoxi Sub-center. 


In 2020, it obtained the first Internet hospital license in Jinzhou and actively carried out "Internet + "Medical health" and "5G" applications provide the people with high-quality medical diagnosis and treatment. Jinzhou Medical University ( JZMU ) was founded in 1946. The university was officially renamed Jinzhou Medical University in March 2016 under the approval of Ministry of Education. JZMU passed the teaching proficiency testing of the Ministry of Education with excellent performance. Through 70 years of development, JZMU has developed into a top-ranked medical university with chiefly medical-based, multilevel, multidisciplinary and multiform education across the whole China.

JZMU currently has over 12000 on-campus students, admitting students nationally from the whole of China. In recent years, their minimum admission scores were higher than the average score of first-batch universities of Liaoning by 50 points. JZMU has 95 professional teaching practice base, among which there are 3 affiliated hospitals. The First Affiliated Hospital and the Third Affiliated Hospital is the First Class National Hospital.

JZMU began to recruit overseas students in 1997. University has a very good hostel campus with free Wifi access. Accommodations for students are available as singles, doubles and triples. Additionally, there are separate hostels for women and men. All hostels are furnished with beds, chairs, tables, and other necessary items. Jinzhou, formerly Chinchow, is a coastal prefecture-level city in central-west Liaoning province, China. It is a geographically strategic city located in the Liaoxi Corridor, which connects most of the land transports between North China and Northeast China, and is the economic center of western Liaoning.

Arrival
Take either the three-hour express train from Beijing or the six-hour regular train. A car drive is also six hours from Beijing via the eastbound Jingshen Expressway. From Shenyang, a bus ride takes three hours via the westbound Jingshen Expressway, or a G train costing between 60 and 70 RMB will take about an hour twenty minutes. However, these trains generally go to Jinzhou South railway station, which is connected to the downtown station by a city bus costing 2 RMB and taking about half an hour to arrive downtown.
