History

Qingdao University was formed in 1993 by the merger of the former Qingdao University, Shandong Textile Technology Institute, Qingdao Medical College, and Qingdao Teachers College. The starting point of school running should be traced back to the different historical sources of each school before the merger. 

Among them, Qingdao Medical College has the earliest starting point in the history of running a school, which originated from the Qingdao Special Higher Education School established in 1909. In 1909, the Qingdao Special Higher Education School was officially opened, setting up disciplines such as law and politics, technology, medicine, agriculture and forestry. It was the first comprehensive university in Qingdao in modern times. It was once hailed as the "Booming Qingdao University" by the "Concord News" at that time. Qingdao Teachers Technical College was founded in October 1951 by Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Culture and Education, Qingdao Education Labor Union, and Shandong University. 

Qingdao Normal School, Qingdao Teachers Technical College, Qingdao Municipal Education Bureau Cadre Teacher Training Class, Qingdao Teachers Training College, etc. In 1981, with the approval of the Shandong Provincial People's Government, Qingdao Teachers Technical College was established on the basis of Qingdao Teachers' Training College. As the only ordinary higher normal college in Qingdao, the school has set up a number of education disciplines, which has made important contributions to the training of teachers and the development of education in Qingdao.
