About Medical University
History
The University of Perpetual Help System, having committed itself to service in the forefront of education and health care, came into being out of the unselfish effort and untiring commitment of its founder: Dr. Jose G. Tamayo and Dr. Josefina Laperal Tamayo. The desire to serve others was manifested at a very young age when Dr. Jose G. Tamayo, then a young boy dreamt of being a doctor. For him, it was the best way he that he could serve his fellow men. But when that dream became a reality, he realized that his best was not good enough the services he rendered were so limited and only within the realm of his profession as a doctor.
With an ardent desire to serve his fellow men, the idea of reaching out to through the setting up of an educational institution, gave birth to the following: Perpetual Help College Manila. Opened in 1968 with Nursing as key a course offering. Most graduate are now in the USA who formed themselves into Perpetualites Association of America and serving as a direct linkage for Perpetualite students and alumni there. Perpetual Help College Malasiqui Located in the heart of Municipality of Malasiqui , Pangasinan, it was founded in 1970 to accelerate the development of health education in the rural areas particularly in the Province of Pangasinan.
University of Perpetual Help Rizal (formerly Perpetual Help College of Rizal). In 1975, the eldest son, Antonio, inspired by his parents, spearheaded the founding of another school in the City of Las Piñas. The Molino Campus in Bacoor, Cavite and Calamba Campus in Laguna are extension programs of University of Perpetual Help Rizal , which started their operations in 1996 and 1997 respectively. University of Perpetual Help System Laguna (formerly Perpetual Help College of Laguna) opened its door for academic excellence in 1976 with a total of 89 students in the first and second and 367 students in the tertiary level. The campus is located along the old national highway in Biñan which is very accessible.
University of Perpetual Help System – GMA Campus started its operation in 1997 UPH-Dr. Jose G. Tamayo Medical University formed in 1976, specializing in medical and health related courses and also located in Biñan, Laguna. University of Perpetual Help System Laguna - Isabela Campus is the youngest satellite of the university system. It aims to provide the northern part of the country an avenue to bring out the nurture the seeds of excellence through Perpetualite education.

The University of Perpetual Help System Dalta Chorale, formerly known as the UPHSD Singing Ensemble/UPH Chorale, is the official chorale group of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Las Piñas. It is composed of student-artists from various colleges of the university. It aims to propagate, preserve and develop Philippine culture and arts through music. The UPHSD Chorale performs different genres of choral pieces such as Broadway, Classical, Foreign and Local Folk songs, Philippine Ethnic Songs, Contemporary Music, OPM and Sacred Music.
UPHChorale has been invited and performed in several events, and has made it to the stages of the Cultural Center of the Philippines for its open house festival : PASINAYA 2010 and PASINAYA 2011. The group has also been invited on many occasions to perform in a popular morning TV show “Umagang Kay Ganda” at ABS-CBN, a Filipino TV Channel and also performed during the plenary session at the Senate of the Philippines in 2016 and 2017. This has been a venue for the group to showcase their talent in a televised setting. Their current moderator/conductress is Ms. Jessica Love Dela Peña.
The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD)’s 28-year-old Collegiate Extension School at the Bureau of Corrections in Muntinlupa is one of the corporate social responsibility programs of UPHSD and the Bureau of Corrections. It has produced more than 400 inmate-graduates. Many of these graduates have been released from prison and are now gainfully employed.
The program was founded by Dr./Bgen Antonio Laperal Tamayo, chairman of the board and CEO of the UPHS and former BuCor director Vicente Eduardo in 1984. Currently, the UPHSD Extension school offers academic programs in Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Marketing Management, and Computer Hardware Servicing Course.

University has a very good hostel campus with free Wifi access. Accommodations for students are available as singles, doubles and triples. Additionally, there are separate hostels for women and men. All hostels are furnished with beds, chairs, tables, and other necessary items. Facilities within the campus include a supermarket, a clinic, a pharmacy, etc. The hostel is monitored by CCTV 24 hours a day. For Indian students on campus, Mess is also available.
