The Armenian Medical Institute is the first private-owned Institute of medicine located in the city of Yerevan, Armenia and established in the year of 1990. Mkhitar Gosh Armenian-Russian International University established in 1996 is located in Yerevan, the capital city if Armenia. It is accredited by ANQA (Armenia’s National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance) and officially approved by the Medical Council of India which complies with the standards set by the MCI.

The Medical University After Saint Tereza was founded in Yerevan in 1992 by Larisa Hambartsumyan and has been the first and the only one in its kind in Armenia. In 1996 the university received a letter of blessing from Mother Teresa. Rector of the University, Larisa Hambartsumyan is a member of the International Orem Society (IOS) for Nursing Science and Scholarship.

Yerevan “Haybusak” University was founded by academician Levon Harutyunyan in 1991. It had three faculties which offered studies in Medicine, Economics and Food Technology. In 1997 the Faculty of Humanities was opened, in 2000 the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations after Lazarian was joined to the University, afterwards, in 2006 – the Armenian Open University after L. Kalashian, in 2009 – the Roslin Design Institute, in 2011 – the Imastaser Anania Shirakatsi University (Gyumri), and in 2013 the Institute of Ecology and Economics also joined Yerevan “Haybusak” University.
