Omsk State Medical University
Omsk State Medical University is one of Siberia's oldest institutions, having been established in 1920 as the Medical Faculty of the Siberian Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Zoology, with a student body of 186. The West Siberian State Medical Institute was founded in 1921, with Prof. N.K. IVANOV-EMIN as the first rector. It was renamed Omsk State Medical Institute in 1924.
